Studies by the Surgeon General, numerous Departments of Health, independent research groups, and Harvard School of Public Health all point to there being no negative economic effects for restaurants and bars that go smoke-free.  In fact, one study has shown that smoke-free laws can increase a restaurant’s business by about 16% annually.

Restaurants with smoking sections have six times the amount of air pollution as a busy highway!
